Arts Night Out/ "Tangible" by Laura Bergstrom

A mixed medium exploration of pyrography, acrylic paints and stains on repurposed wood.

I very recently began exploring Pyrography, the art of hand burning images into wood, as a means of a creative outlet. I had felt as if my life was lacking something tangible and real and it has since flourished into a profound experience in my affinity for the raw, living wood, the images that I burn and the vibrancy that the acrylics and wood stains lend to my multi-dimensional pieces. My hope is that as I explore and grow into my artwork, that people will experience those same tiny moments of connectivity that I had the delight of feeling in each piece.
