Arts Night Out w/ Alexander Dunn
Start: June 13, 2014, 9 p.m.
End: June 14, 2014, midnight
Event at Living Art Studio
Many believe the public arena (streets, buildings, signs), is the best canvas for serious self-expression. With the evolution of graffiti and street art ever growing, stencil art has become a very compelling approach to political art. With the intent of capturing the urgency and energy of street art, my display will feature unorthodox surfaces and arrangements in order to recreate the power of stencil art within the context of public space. Featuring several adults with developmental disabilities as a technique of political awareness, this guerilla approach to art challenges perceptions and rules about how to view and define art.
