FISH LADDER TATTOO CO. 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY PARTY!!!

Hello everyone! Here is your rundown of the Anniversary Party details that a lot of you have been asking about! Thank you for your patience! There is a lot to cover so please bare with me. I'm going to try and cover everything I can so there is the least amount of room for questions.

For the past couple years, FLTC has had a goal to give the Lansing area a deeper view into traditional tattoo culture between bringing in guest artists as often as possible and throwing events like this. We here at FLTC know the Lansing area is unfamiliar with how these types of events typically work. Most serious tattoo collectors will see that this will be very similar to how shop parties normally work. We tried to plan this out to have things run as efficiently and as fun as possible for everyone.

-We will have ten set in stone artists working the event. The normal FLTC crew: Alex Del, Mike Force, Chris Fox, Scott Newby and Cam Pohl. Also returning for the event will be Chris Boilore. Then we have very special guest artists: Dawn Cooke (Harlequin Tattoo), Kyle Hath (Depot Town Tattoo/Harlequin Tattoo), John Hill (Consolidated Tattoo/Name Brand Tattoo) and James Travis (World Traveling Tattooer). We also have invited around 20 other tattooers to the event to come hang out. You might get lucky and be able to get tattooed by one of them if they feel like busting out there gear just for you.

-We will have 30 to 50 designs pre-made for you to pick from. They will be displayed in the lobby for you to choose from. Each artist will be designing 3 to 5 original designs. And all of us will be tattooing from each others sheets. This is a unique opportunity to get something really really special and collectable. We liked the idea of one artist making the design, then the actual tattooing artist putting their particular artistic spin on it. We will not be posting the designs online. You might get lucky and see some of the designs if any of the artists decides to post them ahead of time on their individual Instagram accounts. We will be charging a flat $100 for these designs. Feel free to tip your artist as you see fit past that.

-We will be taking everyone on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVE basis. This means no appointments. You will be put with the tattooer who is next available. This is to be able to keep everything moving as fast as possible since we predict there will be a large number of you in attendance. We also feel like this is a great opportunity to experience getting tattooed by a new artist that you aren’t familiar with and forge a new friendship with them. To get in as soon as possible, please come on in and check in with our counter help. They will take your name and phone number and put it on a list in the order it was received. When your time comes up we will be calling your name or giving you a call. If we can’t get a hold of you within 5-10 minutes we will be moving on to the next person in line. So please pay attention to our counter people and your phones. IF… and that is a huge if… you are dead set on getting by tattooed by one artist in particular, we will do our absolute best to get you in with them. However, keep in mind that we need to keep this event moving and absolutely can not slow it way down to put you in with a specific artist. If you can’t get in with a particular artist that you want, our suggestion would be to set an appointment with them at a later date. The majority of these artists work right here in Lansing. And most of the guest artists live within 2 hours of Lansing, which isn’t a long drive for a great tattoo. Please keep that in mind so we can keep the event moving smoothly. We would really appreciate it.

-As always, no piercing. Tattoos only.

-No minors. 18 years of age and up. You MUST have a valid state or federal issued I.D.!

-As most of you have seen, our shop is very small. Space is a huge concern for us in order to be able to tattoo all of you properly. We will have to set up a few extra stations in able to accommodate all the tattooers. Because of this we will be limiting placement of these tattoos to arms and legs only. Before you come we suggest picking a couple spots you might want to get tattooed. Also, we will only be able to bring you back when you are getting tattooed. We can’t bring your friends back with you. Please understand that we are predicting it to be very cramped and very hectic so we need the least amount of people in that tattooing area as possible. Also an important side note. Please do not bring children, as always. We do not mind children, however a tattoo parlor is not a proper environment for them. Plus they cause distractions to artists that are attempting to concentrate on their task at hand. We appreciate your compliance.

-A portion of the profits of the party will be donated to various charities. The world has been a mess lately, and there are a lot of people that need our help that we absolutely can not ignore. I know we here at the shop have discussed splitting ours between the hurricane relief of Puerto Rico, the Flint water crisis and Planned Parenthood. We just want you to know that a good majority of the money you spend will be going towards a good cause and not in our pockets.

-The event will run from Noon to 8PM on October 21st, 2017. We suggest showing up early to avoid waiting too long. We are going to attempt to get everyone in that shows up. However, we are not machines, at some point if the wait list gets too long, we will have to make a cut off point. So once again it is highly suggested to get to the shop early and check in with our counter help as soon as possible.

-As we have said before, our shop is extremely small, so there isn’t a lot of room for waiting in our lobby. If you have a little bit of a wait, we suggest you visit one of our neighboring business in Old Town. We have plenty of excellent shops, bars, coffee shops and restaurants within a short walking distance from the shop. ALSO!!! We have our friend catering the event, and he will be set up right outside the shop serving vegan bratwurst that he will be making from scratch. Make sure you try one of these out!!!

-After the event, the party will be moving across the street with our friends at The Unicorn Tavern. They will be having drink specials specifically for the event. Please feel free to show up and celebrate our 10 year milestone with us!

Well that about covers it all! Sorry for this being so long! I will do my best to answer any additional questions. I would assume most of the answers to questions are contained right here. Once again here are the things to really remember for the day:
1. Show up as early as possible to get in as soon as possible.
2. Pick out a couple spots on either your arms or legs in advance that you’d want to place your design. Also wear clothing appropriate to get the space tattooed.
3. Be open minded to getting tattooed by all artists.
4. Pay attention to directions from our shop help and if you’re waiting for your turn, please pay attention to your phones if you’re not in the shop.
5. Be respectful to everyone!
6. HAVE FUN!!!! It is a party after all!
