The Wooster Street Social Club and Anonymous Gallery present FLASH, a group exhibition offering unique opportunities for the appreciation and acquisition of art – an often exclusive and intimidating experience in the contemporary art world. Featuring work from some of today’s leading artists, the exhibition will include available original artwork from urban contemporary fine artists as well as the opportunity to commission their images for work inked by the tattoo artists of Wooster Street Social Club and NY Ink.
Anthony Lister, Curtis Kulig, Dan Witz, Eric White, Greg Lamarche, Kelsey Brookes, Kenji Hirata, Kenzo Minami, James Jean, Logan Hicks, Nick Walker, Ron English, Shelter Serra, and Tristan Eaton
Just as artists have been creating original works of art, humans have marked their bodies with tattoos for thousands of years. Both art forms - sometimes plain, sometimes elaborate, - have served as amulets, status symbols, declarations of love, signs of religious and political beliefs, personal adornments and statements of artistic expression.

This exhibition demonstrates that art is able to resonate within a diverse audience and supports a changing cultural landscape where celebrated artists and coveted artworks can be accessible to the masses. The show represents a new departure in the relationship between art, the individual, interpretation, appreciation, and spatial context.

About Wooster Street Social Club
Wooster Street Social Club is a tattoo shop, gallery space, and events venue that plays host to TLCs newest reality show NY Ink. Wooster Street Social Club is in the heart of NYCs SoHo district, which is arguably one of the most artistic, creative, and fashion forward communities in the world. It is an environment where art, culture, media, commerce, and entertainment live together and can be understood as complementary rather than mutually exclusive.
Through a series of art shows, activities, lectures, tastings, and large-scale events, Wooster Street Social Club has established itself as an ever-changing nexus of NYC’s creative community. The bottom line is to bring something new to the table, a forum for creativity, and something that is uniquely New York.
About Anonymous Gallery
Anonymous Gallery was established September of 2008, in New York’s Lower East Side, with the goal of providing a platform for contemporary art, pubic art, and community involvement. Since then, the gallery has been committed to presenting work from artists that have significantly influenced today’s popular culture, design and the urban environment. Gallery exhibitions and public projects have featured gallery artists amongst work from artists such as Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Donald Baechler, Jonas Mekas, Keith Haring, Kenny Scharf, Tom Sachs, Agathe Snow, and others.
Capitalizing on the literal meaning on the word “anonymous”, the gallery uses New York City and the world at large as a metaphorical canvas, hosting groundbreaking exhibitions in satellite locations and utilizing each city’s landscape to develop ambitious public art projects.
2011 will mark the inauguration of new permanent gallery locations in both New York City and Mexico City (D.F.)
