Wooster Street Social Club is pleased to announce its newest exhibition with artist Eric Lavazzon, titled Good or Evil, But Still Human, opening February 8th, 2012. The exhibition features the artist’s newest work that draws from images in popular culture as well as everyday life. The title of the show addresses his subject matter as human, rather than icons that represent the forces of good or evil. His work removes context and controversy, while still presenting the viewer with visually charged images of figures in popular culture and recent history. Eric Lavazzon's works are strong three-dimensional portraits carved in Plexiglas and wood. Through his exploration of different mediums, Lavazzon has developed a style that is uniquely his. Most of his paintings are derived from found objects that he then uses to create his work. These items are usually found locally with recent items coming from New York City and South Beach in Miami.

About The Artist
Eric Lavazzon was born in Swidnik, Poland and currently resides in New York City. He attended art school in Poland prior to studying independently as well as under various apprenticeships with Hyper Realism Master Andrej Jakub Kapica, illustration Professor Franciszek Starowieyski, and installation specialist Wladystaw Hasior.
Lavazzon was greatly influenced at an early age by Rauschenberg and Warhol, as well as other artists working in the American Pop Art genre. His works are thought provoking three-dimensional pieces. He draws greatly on imagery from popular culture as well as quotidian scenes and objects that render his work familiar, yet uniquely inspired.
