Peril : exposure to the risk of being injured, destroyed, or lost

"All art is at once surface and symbol. Those who go beneath the surface do so at their peril. Those who read the symbol do so at their peril. It is the spectator, and not life, that art really mirrors.” –Oscar Wilde

Armageddon Tattoo and Ink Gallery is pleased to announce its inaugural exhibition Peril. A group of 12 local and international artists come together to display a varied collection of ambiguous work ranging from the neo-traditional paintings of Steve Chellis and Michael Polomik, the visceral non-objective work of Joseph O’Neal and Joe Strasser, to the tattoo inspired style of Yovanni del Rio and Gabriel Pantoja. The act of creating requires oneself to be put in to various mental states ranging from solemn comfort to disturbing anguish. In this manner all artists go about their process at their own peril.

We look forward to seeing everyone on October 6th for our inaugural exhibition Peril and helping us usher in a new era for Armageddon Tattoo and Ink gallery.
