Start: June 4, 2017, midnight
End: June 4, 2017, 4 a.m.
Event at Fleur Noire Tattoo Parlour
Prison tattoos on fine silks by Joaquin Motor.
Fleur Noire Tattoo Parlour invites the public to join in on conversations about DIY tattooing, the role of criminality in modern art, and low-brow-as-high-brow culture.
Saturday, June 3rd
8PM - 12AM
Fleur Noire Tattoo Parlour
439 Metropolitan Ave, Brooklyn, NY, 11211
(Williamsburg // @ N 6th St)
Influenced by the language of Russian prison tattoos, Motor emblazons delicate silks with crude and violent imagery. By adorning such fragile textiles with symbols of ignorance and hatred, Motor confronts the paradox of the hardened criminal: a person whose tough exterior can never overcome the vulnerable human body.
