I grew up in rural Southside Virginia, surrounded by dirt roads, tobacco fields, starry nights and lazy streams. The landscape and people of this rural area are dear to me, each one a tangible expression of a magnificent Creator.

As a “ruralographer” I endeavor to preserve and share images that shaped and inspire me, scenes that tell the story of a way of life with deep roots and spreading branches. The simplest image—a rusted plow, a single sunflower or a backyard celebration—promise the most enduring and universal truths.

I now live in Richmond and delight in the unexpected beauty the city offers daily. Coming from a tobacco farm, I appreciate the vibrancy and soul of this urban environment.
