To the Heart of Town Art Show

Copper State Tattoo and Lighten Up present
"To The Heart of Town", a group art exhibit by Alex Empty, Jake Imler, Avelourd Legaspi, Mike Claypool, and Aaron Maxwell.

This show features new paintings and art by the workhorse crew of tattooers from Copper State Tattoo. Off of skin, this group of artists use paint and ink to further explore the images and realms of tattoo art, Eastern or Western, while always aiming to create work that is far from just tattoo flash. Their curious fascintaion with traditional styles gets loosened when the restricitons of the tattoo as a medium are lifted. Bold and strong characters, fantastic beasties, and imagined worlds can be seen across many of the pieces.

"TTHOT" is hosted at Lighten Up at 3341 N. 7th Avenue at Osborn Rd, next to Copper State Tattoo. Ligthen Up Is dedicated to the arts and tattoo community and has provided this venue as a way to introduce their hopes to offer regular art shows in the heart of Central Phoenix.

There will be an opening reception at 7pm on First Friday, May 6th, 2016 with music, coffee, beer/wine and snacks. There is plenty of easy parking and the Osborn light rail stop is less than a mile away.
